For sale in our Chicago showroom is a piece of American muscle car history a 1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 30th Anniversary Edition. Happy 30th birthday! To celebrate Camaro was chosen to pace the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in August of 1996. This beauty is painted just like the official pace car Arctic White with Hugger Orange heritage stripes. This was similar to the Indy 500 pace car of 1969. A special white and black hounds tooth interior was featured part of Camaros early heritage. A total of 4534 of these anniversary models were built. Of that number only 1497 had the six-speed manual transmission in a coupe/t-top. The body lines create an arrow shape which makes for astonishingly low drag coefficient. Pop the hood to see the original numbers matching LT-1 engine. This 5.7 liter was rated at 285 hp from the factory and is backed by a T-56 manual transmission. Grab a hold of the Hurst short-throw shifter and bang through all 6 gears as you cruise down the road. Following this is a stock 10-bolt rear end with 3.42 gears. This Camaro is a Carfax certified 1-owner car. A true 30th Anniversary Edition Camaro is RPO code Z4C which means not only was it Arctic White with Hugger Orange stripes but also came with Arctic white 5 spoke wheels and had 30th Anniversary embroidered on both front seat backs and in between the rear seats. You also had a choice of white leather interior or white leather with black & white hounds tooth inserts. This particular 30th Anniversary Z28 has the rare white leather with black & white hounds tooth cloth inserts. The carpet and surrounding panels are grey in color which allow the bright white leather on the seats to radiate. These were the 30th Anniversary limited build cars. This gem has always been garage kept and is coming out of a private collection. All the paperwork and original window sticker is available. Everything is original with the exception of the Flowmaster CAT Back exhaust and a K&N air filter. Never been wrecked and always dealer serviced this car is ready to drive! Mobil 1 oil has been used exclusively in this street machine. The Arctic white 5 spoke wheels are wrapped in brand new Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Stopping wont be a problem with the new ceramic brakes and rotors all around. Additional new products include new spark plugs battery and fuel filter.
