Up for sale in the Houston showroom is the rarest Dodge Dart created the 1960 Dodge Dart Phoenix D-500. The Dodge Dart debuted in 1960 as Dodges entry level vehicle and was offered in three trim levels: the basic Seneca mid-range Pioneer and the premium Phoenix as shown. These particular Darts were a special order package built at the Dodge assembly line in Detroit MI March 16 1960. Dodge set a world record in its class at Bonneville with the 1960 Phoenix D-500. This one has been restored to highest standards and taken back to factory specs. Of the total 1574 383cid ram inducted cars produced only 562 were Phoenix 2 door hardtops. This rare 1960 Dodge Dart Phoenix D500 has a unique optional cantilever red sweep paint scheme highlighting the roof line in cloud white. The dual transistor radio works and the twin rear antennas and stainless fender skirts look phenomenal. This rare Dodge is sure to get everyones attention no matter where you go. Standard engine for the Dodge Dart was a 225ci slant six of course the Phoenix received something a bit bigger the 383 C.I.D Cross Ram tuned big block. It was Mopars design to provide added support. The translucent speedometer extends above the dashboard just below the line of vision so it could be read easily.
