As General Motors began developing its first compact cars, the Oldsmobile, dubbed F-85, would share a new Y-body platform, using a 112-inch (2845 mm) wheelbase and still-novel unibody construction, with the Buick Special and Pontiac Tempest. This 62 Cutlass F85 is powered by the original All Aluminum 215 CID V8, and is backed by the 3-speed Roto Hydramatic Auto transmission.
