Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is excited to present this 1970 AMC AMX. AMC hit the pony car market head on with the all-new AMC AMX. The AMX was produced as a two-seater muscle car from 1968-1970. Designed by the American Motors Corporation as a cheaper alternative to the Chevrolet Corvette. Marketed as a performance machine that was designed to bring in younger buyers during the muscle car craze. By 1970 a Go package was available with the 360/390 V-8s which included heavy duty cooling, power front disk brakes, ram-air induction, handling package, and white letter tires. This bright orange 1970 AMC AMX has undergone a complete rotisserie restoration. The body and all body parts were acid dipped and E-Coated. All new smoked glass has been installed. Both bumpers and all the chrome/stainless trim have been replated/ polished to a mirror finish. Under the hood of this beauty is the original 390ci.V-8 engine that underwent a complete professional rebuild, attached to a Borg Warner T-10 four-speed rebuilt transmission. Engine highlights include custom stainless-steel American Racing headers, aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, and dual quad Fi-Tech fuel injected throttle bodies. Wilwood four-wheel disk brakes, power steering, custom stainless fuel tank, and custom one-piece flanged axles by Moser Engineering, are added features. The completely restored black vinyl interior comes with Procar bucket seats, AMX steering wheel with tilt, Custom dash gauges by Dakota Digital, and a factory Am/ 8 track radio.
