Powered by a 260ci V8 with a top mounted generator instead of the alternator introduced in 1965 and hooked up to a 3 speed automatic transmission. The exterior is finished in black paint work, a red pinstripe adorning the fenders and doors, and topped with a white convertible roof. The interior is dressed in red vinyl with options including power steering, AM/FM radio, heating, and added air conditioning. Some interior markers of a 1964 are the door locks being color matched to the interior unlike 1965 when they were made chrome, a fresh air vent knob under the steering wheel with the letter A and the gauge cluster has a lit up GEN light on the dash instead of ALT for the later added alternator. Some other key markers of a 1964 include the mounting positions of the horns down on the frame instead of behind the grille, and the 1964 had no security cable on the fuel cap.
