Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to offer this PHS-documented 1965 Pontiac GTO. This is the real deal GTO, not a clone. Originally an option package for the Pontiac Tempest in 1964 and 1965, the GTO didnt become its own model until 1966. This car is powered by a 389 CID V8, which has been upgraded after the fact with a Tri-Deuce package, with 3x2BBL carburetors, rather than its original single 4BBL carb setup. The 4-speed manual transmission appears to be the one it was ordered with, however. In addition to the PHS documentation, it also has a laminated reproduction of the original dealer window sticker, which depicts the 4-speed having been ordered with the car. The original exterior color, according to the referenced trim plate and PHS documents, was color code H; which was Palmetto Green. The original interior trim code matches the black that it currently has. While the paint on this one needs some TLC, the interior has remained in good condition. The dual exhaust gives this beast that classic muscle car rumble, and will remind you of your first GTO, with its snarling 389.
