Taking a page from Carrol Shelbys playbook for channeling racing experience into track-capable street cars, Steve Saleen tuned Mustangs for a newer generation of enthusiast drivers, establishing himself with the Fox-body examples of the Eighties and early-Nineties, and continuing to elevate the Mustangs performance with following generations of the original pony car. The car is finished in Satin silver (TL) and is equipped with a Saleen body kit consisting of a revised front fascia with auxiliary lighting, rocker panel extensions, a rear spoiler, a restyled taillight panel, quarter-panel end caps, and a Saleen-embossed rear fascia with center-exit exhaust tips. The S281 Supercharged was the ultimate performance offering from Saleen in 2006, offering 435 horsepower-a 45-percent increase over the stock Mustang GT it was based on. The cabin features Saleen front sport seats trimmed in black leather with matching door panels and carpets. Saleen logos adorn the steering wheel and seat backs, and amenities include a short-throw shifter with a custom shift knob for the 5-speed manual transmission, cruise control, a power-adjustable drivers seat, air conditioning, a Shaker CD stereo, and embroidered floor mats. A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 4,800 miles Carfax reported miles. Being one of roughly 1100 supercharged Saleens for 2006, this makes for one very special Stang!
