Twenty-five years after the introduction of the original Range Rover, the second-generation (model-designation P38A) was introduced for the 1995 model year, based on the LWB chassis of the model, with an updated version of the Rover V8 engine or a 2.5-litre BMW six-cylinder turbo-diesel with a Bosch injection pump. The second generation Range Rover incorporated an improved electronic air suspension (called EAS) which was an adaption of the system used on the 1993 - 1996 Range Rover Classic It allows automatic, speed determined height adjustment. The five suspension heights offered by EAS are (from lowest to highest in terms of height) Access, Motorway, Standard, Off-Road, and Off-Road Extended. This particular example was originally exported to Japan from new and spent its whole life in the Tokyo suburbs. Recently, this 1996 example was imported back to the UK and made its way to the United States in late 2022 and is being sold with a clear GA title. Powering this JDM import is a 4.6 Liter V8 making 230 HP and 280 lb-ft of torque backed by 4-Speed Automatic Transmission. All options for the HSE trim level, and this is the more powerful engine variant for the year model. This 1996 Range Rover has been fully serviced and maintained, and comes with a fully stamped Land Rover Service history folder. Purchased from the original owner, this low mileage example would be a great RHD addition to any collection, or just a cool way to get around town with the kids!
