Used 1972 Dodge Challenger for sale in New Braunfels, Texas
Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this classic 1972 Dodge Challenger, finished in Mango Pearl with black accents when the total restoration was completed in 2021, which included new pans, quarters & trunk lid. Introduced for the 1969 model year, the Challenger was produced to compete with other upper-level pony cars, such as the Mercury Cougar, which had grown exponentially in popularity through the final half of the 1960s. Powering this Challenger is a 360CID V-8 with long tube Hedman Headers thats mated to a smooth shifting TorqueFlite A904 3-speed automatic transmission, and a set of 2.76 gears sitting inside the 8 3/4 Posi rear end, sending ALL the power to the rear wheels. The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl and accompanied by a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Woodgrain lines the instrument cluster, center console, and door panel inserts, and additional equipment includes a glovebox and cold blowing Vintage Air A/C system, Challenger branded floor mats and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth stereo. The two-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, fuel level, coolant temperature, amperage, and battery charge with auxiliary gauges mounted below the dash consisting of oil pressure and coolant temperature. The 5-digit odometer reads just over 7k miles although the true mileage is unknown. With plenty of power under the hood and empty roads ahead, this Challenger is truly a homologated race car!
