Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to represent this recently restored 1981 Toyota FJ45! The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ series has a long, storied history. Produced by Toyota from 1960 until 2001 (with Brazilian production beginning in 1968 as the Bandeirante). Their construction is traditional body on frame, so they are relatively simple to outfit in a myriad of ways. Most of the 40 series Land Cruisers were built as 2-door models with slightly larger dimensions than the similar Jeep CJ. The model was available in short (J40/41/42), medium (J43/44/46) and long (J45/47) wheelbase versions, with gas and diesel engines. The FJ45/47 was a long-wheelbase four-wheel-drive vehicle, available in two-door hardtop, three-door hardtop, four-door station wagon and two-door pickup models. This long wheelbase FJ45 is fitted with a single cab and pickup bed and is finished in a very nicely executed Sahara Tan over a freshly installed Gray Vinyl interior. It doesnt take a genius to notice the nicely executed paint, and the new gray synthetic leather interior. These FJ45 pickups are not nearly as easy to find as an FJ40 or FJ43 and finding one this nice for less than $100K is becoming a challenge! Power is sent to the rear wheels by a 4.2 Liter Inline 6-Cylinder engine backed by a 4-Speed Manual Transmission. Recently imported from South America (Colombia, to be exact) after it was restored, this 1981 FJ45 is easily one of the top FJ restorations that we have seen! Since this truck is not a U.S. Domestic Market vehicle, there is no Carfax available, but one can tell by looking it over closely, its in very good shape!
