VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1972 Datsun 240Z for sale in Concord, North Carolina

Gateway Classic Cars of Charlotte is proud to digitally present this 1972 Datsun 240Z.Since 1969, The Nissan/Datsun range of Z cars has enthralled sports car enthusiasts worldwide, including in North America. This example is from the first generation of Nissan/Datsun Z cars. The first generation, known as the S30, entered the scene in 1969, with a production run until 1978.The iconic design was penned by Yoshihiko Matsuo and is recognizable upon sight by those who know about Japanese sports cars from the Sixties and Seventies. This sporty car is 163 inches long, about the same as a modern compact hatchback. It weighs a svelte 2,300lbs too. The chrome front and rear bumpers fit tightly to the sleek body lines and give that classic look to the time before bulky rubber bumpers were mandated. A saddle tan interior is an eye-catching complement to its Green Metallic (113) exterior, further accented by the White 240Z side graphics along the lower belt line. Youve got two seats and an upholstered cargo area behind them. Comprehensive instrumentation is presented via clear analog gauges and a period radio. Its all pure Seventies magic, with a thin, wood-rimmed steering wheel to guide the cars trajectory and a wooden gear knob to row through the manual gearbox. The doors feature black armrests and window winders, and chromed door pulls. As the name suggests, this 1972 Datsun 240Z Coupe is powered along by a 2.4L Nissan/Datsun L24 in-line six-cylinder engine fed by twin carburetors to produce around 148hp and 146lb-ft when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission gearbox. Performance specs for the time were lively, with zero to sixty clocked at 8 seconds flat and a top speed of 125mph.Dont snooze on this masterpiece of classic Japanese automotive engineering. The collectability of these Datsun Z cars is increasing, and now is your chance to board the bullet train to enthusiast central! Contact us today before its gone!
