The first production of the Camaro COPO Drag Car was in 1969 and the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro COPO Drag Car was the first year Chevy brought back the COPO nameplate in over 40 years! This put the 2012 COPO Camaro in direct competition with the Ford Mustang Cobra Jet and the Dodge Challenger Drag Pak. COPO, or Central Office Production Order, was Chevys high performance special-order system used in the 1960s by dealers to build high performance models. COPO produced only 69 units, the exact number of ZL-1 COPO Camaros made in 1969 and only producing them from 2012 thru 2015, this is one unique collectors car!Powered by the naturally aspirated 427 ci V8 the 2012 COPO Camaro is not a street legal drag car, with the sole purpose of competing in NHRAs Stock Eliminator and Super Stock classes, due to this purpose built drag cars, features like climate control, turn signals, radio, etc. are absent.
