VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1968 Chrysler New Yorker for sale in New Braunfels, Texas

Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is happy to offer the highly customized 1968 Chrysler New Yorker, aptly named 1 BADD 1, that was featured in the Jan 1990 edition of Mopar Magazine! This New Yorker is a 440CID powered custom from years gone by! Sporting a 4.25 front/3 rear roof chop, shaved handles (with keyfob poppers) & completely lowered custom suspension designed by Mike Helm Racing that utilizes both chopped front springs, as well as 10 Koni coil-overs in the rear, to give it that aggressive, low slung, stance that you see. Finished in a Slap You In The Mouth Pink, layed down by Jesse Warren, & some wild 80s mechanical style graphics & pinstriping, applied by Jungle Jeff Graphics back in 1987, this car SCREAMS 1980s! The power is supplied by Chryslers big-block 440CID V/8 engine belting out a more than adequate 360hp in its sophomore offering from the factory, and an even more important 470 lb-ft of torque, for great acceleration at any time for a vehicle this size. These New Yorkers are simply massive inside, with room for six corn-fed adult Americans, with a trunk sufficient for luggage for that many people to take a long road trip. This V/8 is backed up with the rightly famous Torqueflite 727 automatic, noted then and now as one of the finest automatics ever built. Massive all-new Budd power assisted front disc brakes were a new option shared with Dodge and Plymouth starting in 1965, and which were competitive with Fords new front disc brakes also introduced a full two years ahead of GMs full-sized cars. These New Yorkers are simply massive inside, with room for six corn-fed adult Americans and then some, and a completely custom-finished trunk sufficient for luggage for at least that many to take a long road trip! Cold A/C, AM/FM/Cassette, power steering, aftermarket gauges & a set of aluminum alloy wheels round out the options. If you are wanting a quick trip down memory lane, or are just looking to stand out in a crowd, there is little doubt that this Chrysler will definitely get you noticed!
