Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this 2002 Ford F150 Lightning. Introduced as a 1993 model, the Ford SVT Lightning is a high-performance version of the F-150 that was produced by the Ford Special Vehicle Team (SVT). Intended as a competitor for the Chevrolet 454SS, the SVT Lightning was derived from the F-150; to improve its handling, extensive modifications were made to the front and rear suspension and frame. After a three-year hiatus, Ford released a second generation of the SVT Lightning for the 1999 model year. This new generation was powered by a supercharged version of the 5.4L V8 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission from the F-150, producing 360 hp. The truck was factory-equipped with SVT-tuned dampers and springs as well as front and rear stabilizer bars. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. The cab features a 60/40 split bench seat upholstered in Medium Graphite cloth and black leather, and embroidered SVT logos accent the backrests. Amenities include a power-adjustable drivers seat, air conditioning, cruise control, overhead storage compartments, and a cassette stereo with a six-disc CD changer. The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a white-dial 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer and auxiliary gauges that include a boost gauge, coolant temperature, oil pressure and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 6k Carfax reported miles. This truck is set up to enjoy the open road in style!
