VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1983 Buick Riviera for sale in Houston, Texas

Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to offer this rare, unrestored 1983 Buick Riviera XX Anniversary Edition. The Buick Riviera celebrated its 20th anniversary in 1983 by being selected as the Pace Car for the Indianapolis 500, which led to a special edition production car, which came in both convertible and hardtop versions. There were 500 production hardtops that were badged as XX Anniversary Edition models, and these 20th Anniversary Rivieras were built to be special, set apart from their mainstream brethren by several key luxury features. They were all painted two tone beige and sported an Anniversary grille and front-end panel. The XX, as some referred to it, received special true wire wheels made by Appliance Wheel Company, 24K gold-plated badging, and some serious upgrades like hand-made 26 oz German wool carpeting, real English walnut wood veneer plates (those woodgrain panels used are wood, not that silly woodgrain plastic), and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The interiors featured Medium Beech special leather covering most of the surfaces, with the seating receiving dark brown suede leather inserts. Even the trunk interiors featured the same wool carpeting as the interior, along with a special trunk lid inside cover that was covered in that German wool carpeting and featured an embroidered XX logo. Also standard were the rear window defroster, Gran Touring suspension with 4-wheel disc brakes, and dual power mirrors. The XX Rivieras were unique, virtually hand-built grand touring machines from Buick, and finding one that has aged this well will indeed be a challenge! With only a little bit of wear showing in the interior, and its paint needing very little TLC to restore it to its original sheen, this is one car that has been well cared for throughout its nearly 4-decade lifespan. Additional features and options on this 1983 Buick Riviera XX Edition include Air Conditioning, AM/FM/Cassette Radio, Cruise Control, Leather Interior, Power Brakes, Power Locks, Power Seats (currently not moving, but one can hear the motors), Power Steering, Power Windows, Radial Tires, Rear Defroster, Seat Belts, Spare Tire, and Tilt Steering Wheel. If you are a Riviera lover, youll want to have one of these hard to find XX cars and finding them in this condition wont be easy if you dont snag this one! Give our Houston Showroom a call or send us an email, and well help you make that happen!
