VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1957 Buick Roadmaster 75 for sale in Tinley Park, Illinois

For sale in our Chicago showroom is the personification of 1950s American luxury and comfort a Buick Roadmaster 75 Riviera. For 57 GM introduced a new platform for Buick that was bigger and heavier than previous models. A revised roofline was supported by forward slanted A-pillars creating a more panoramic front windshield. The fresh styling was a bit curvier than the 56 but sported Buicks traditional vertical grill bars Dagmar bumper guards and trademark Ventiports on the front fenders. The top of the line was the Roadmaster which rode on the same wheelbase as entry level Cadillacs. Powered by a new 300 horsepower 364 CID Nailhead V-8 mated to a 2-speed Dynaflow automatic transmission 57 Buicks rode on a new ball joint front suspension. This hardtop coupe is the elite 75 Riviera which boasts an array of standard equipment that was available only as individual options on lesser models. Power seats power windows a unique one piece rear windshield with rear slanted C-pillars deluxe wheel covers Series 75 scripts on the rear quarter red-accented side chrome trim finned aluminum brake drums and carpeted lower doors all were included on the Roadmaster 75. This particular car has all those options and more including factory air conditioning (upgraded to modern more environmentally friendly R-134a Freon) fender skirts continental kit dual mirrors with spotlights and factory AM radio. Modern improvements include an FM converter whitewall radial tires wire wheels alternator and power brakes with dual master cylinders and front disc brakes. The automatic transmission was recently rebuilt and the clock speedometer and wiper motor are recently replaced. This Roadmaster also includes many spare parts including the original AC compressor. In 1958 the Buick became bulkier and chromier spoiling much of the elegance that makes this Roadmaster such an eye catcher. With 33000 Roadmasters produced for 1957 and the model dropped after 58 this posh Buick is not only unusual but one of the last of a great name in American automobiles.
