Used 1965 Chevrolet El Camino for sale in Concord, North Carolina
Gateway Classic Cars of Charlotte is proud to digitally present this 1965 Chevrolet El Comino. The first El Camino rolled off the assembly line in 1959. It had a Bel Air exterior and rested on a modified Brookwood station wagon platform. People liked what they saw, and El Caminos first year on the market outsold Fords Ranchero, which had a jump start on this niche-type of vehicle. Unfortunately, 1960 did not bring the same sales numbers as 59, ultimately causing the auto manufacturer to put the El Camino on hold. Chevy was not about to give up and spent the next three years redesigning the El Camino. By 1964, they were confident they had reached their goals, and sales proved them correct. This car gets plenty of attention wherever it goes. Fresh, bright red paint shines brilliantly and covers the original sheet metal (a bonus when a car spends over 20 years in Arizona). The classy, fawn-colored interior looks great and compliments the exterior very well. The smugglers box is hinged, allowing for easy storage in the Rhino-Lined bed. A Chevy 350 V8 under the hood purrs like a kitten, thanks to the Edelbrock intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor combination. Power steering allows you to fully concentrate on the fun youre having while shifting the rebuilt Muncie M 20 transmission through all four gears. A 10-bolt differential with a 3.36: gear ratio delivers that V8 torque to new tires, wrapping timeless 15 Rally wheels. Call us now to find out to make this cool Camino yours!
