Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is excited to present this hard-charging bright red 2003 Ford Mustang GT (Cobra tribute). This nasty beast is more than just eye candy - although it may not have been born a Cobra, its now wearing Cobra front and rear fascias, polished SVE aluminum wheels, and Cobra badging, so it definitely looks the part...but anyone who knocks it as not a real Cobra is sure going to get a surprise when they line up against it. HP Motorsports in Katy, TX was tasked with taking this GTs performance up more than just a notch, and by all accounts, they succeeded. Starting with new cams (and valve springs), an intercooled Procharger P1SC-H, BBK long tube headers, Trick Flow Specialties composite intake and CAI, BBK cat-back dual setup w/crossover, and FlowMaster mufflers, it dynoed (on a Mustang Dyno) 496 RWHP/508 LB/FT RWTQ in 12/2019. That was before its current owner stepped it up a notch (or two!) from there in early 2022, with Heideman Racing Dynamics adding a DiabloSport MAFia mass airflow, Ford Motorsport coil packs, a Procharger Bullet bypass (BOV), custom retune for the MAFia, Eibach Sportline lowering springs, Bilstein B6 series shock and strut kit, MaximumMotorsports Caster/Camber plates, a Tremec 3650 5-speed transmission, Steeda TriAx short throw shifter, a clutch quadrant kit w/firewall adjuster, and some super-sticky Nitto NT555G2 performance radials (P275/40ZR17 up front, P315/35ZR17 rear) to help this bad boy stick to the pavement. This little Pony snorts like a Stallion now, but you wouldnt know it until it sucks your headlights out as it blows past you! Before you ask, it doesnt have a new dyno sheet after the latest upgrades, nor do we have the rear axle gear ratio, but one can only surmise that its more powerful than what it was at the end of 2019! Inside, this stout GT looks very much stock, with its black leather seating and carpet having been left intact (and very well cared-for). A Ford Mach 1000 sound system with AM/FM/6-disc CD changer puts out the tunes, and still sounds good. This car is a real sleeper - from the inside, you wont know its such a beast under the hood...until the loud pedal is smacked to the floor, that is. Additional features on this slick ride include Air Conditioning, Aluminum Wheels, Driver and Passenger Air Bags, Four-wheel Power Anti-lock disc brakes, Power Drivers Seat, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Power Steering, Power Windows, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, Tilt Steering Wheel, and Traction Control.
