This engine was also on Wards Automotives list of the 10 top engines of the 20th century. It was a staple of hot rodders all across the U.S. in the 1950s, and it remains famous in the classic car hobbies even today, despite the huge variety of other popular V8s that followed. If your heads have the outlet in the front then lucky you because you most likely have an 8BA flathead, which ran from 1948-1953, & these engines where the last series in the continental US to be made and are widely considered some of the most desired Flatheads when it comes to stock performance and engineering.
