VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1972 Chevrolet Corvette for sale in New Braunfels, Texas

Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is pleased to present this 1972 Chevrolet Corvette. Third-generation Corvettes like this 72 model have an outstanding timeless stylishness about them - they get their curved form from the Mako Shark II concept car that stunned car expo audiences in the mid-60s with its futuristic appearance. The body lines on this classic are in great order - everything matches up neatly, and the doors and big block hood show nice, even gaps. All exterior fittings, including the legendary chrome bumpers front and rear, the rocker panel trim all present very well. The sight of a dialed-in, beautifully done Corvette is always a wonderful way to brighten the mood of any car enthusiast, and when it packs the big block power of this 1972 Chevrolet Corvette LS5 454 Convertible, that happiness becomes outright euphoria with just a tap of the accelerator. Wearing its original colors inside and out, including a magnetic shade of Steel Cities Gray stretched over those gorgeous curves, this C3 is in killer condition and looks good with plenty of power, and a top that goes down making this Vette ready for the road. The non-#s matching, but period correct 454CID V-8 breathes through a four-barrel carburetor and features a Edelbrock intake, mild cam, aluminum radiator with two electric fans and Holley stamped valve covers. The cabin features front bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl joined by a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes air conditioning, a heater and defroster, power windows, polished door sills, map pockets, and a retro-style digital stereo. The three-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a tilt column and frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. Five auxiliary gauges are mounted in the center stack that include battery voltage, water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level and a clock. Chevrolet big block power, killer good looks, and a top that goes down - what more could you want in a vintage icon?
