VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1956 Chevrolet Corvette for sale in Concord, North Carolina

Gateway Classic Cars of Charlotte, North Carolina, is proud to list this 1956 Chevrolet Corvette. The Corvette is a universally recognized car. Anytime you see one on the road, you immediately know its a Corvette. The history of the Corvette is rich with tradition. While the design has changed numerous times throughout history, it has never wavered from its two-door and two-passenger sports body style. The first-generation Corvette was in production from 1953 - 1962. Following the success of the 1953 debut, the production of the 1954 Corvette moved from Flint, MI, to St. Louis, MO. In 1956, the Corvette was redesigned, featuring exposed headlights, roll-up windows, sculpted side coves, and, for the first time, a removable hardtop. This rare color combination was only on 166 of the 1956 model year Corvettes produced. The seller of this Corvette tells us that its been wearing the original 66-year-old two-tone Aztec Copper with contrasting Shoreline Beige alcoves paint its whole life. They brought the car to us with four wheels and tires believed to have come with the car! The owner states this fine piece of American design was originally equipped with a 265CI V8 and a convertible power top (both have been removed); this is a rare find. We are told the motor was replaced with a 1957 Block and has Fuelie Heads (Head casting 3731539) but now has a quad carburetor set up with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. The owner presents the Beige interior as original (save for the bottom of one seat that has been redone).Considering that, the owner has given a list of items that have been attended to on this rare Corvette.Rebuilt TransmissionNew Fuel Lines, Filter, and Sealed Gas TankRebuilt Master Cylinder, Water Pump, and Fuel PumpThe list of options the owner states the car was built with is quite impressive:Code : Description : Quantity : MSRP when new2934 : Base Corvette Convertible : 3467 : $3120101 : Heater : Unknown : $123.65102 : AM Radio : 2717 : $198.90107 : Parking Brake Alarm : 2685 : $5.40108 : Courtesy Lights : 2775 : $8.65109 : Windshield Washers : 2815 : $11.85290 : Whitewall Tires : Unknown : $32.30313 : Powerglide Transmission : Unknown : $188.50419 : Auxiliary Hardtop : 2076 : $215.20440 : Two-Tone Paint : 1259 : $19.40449 : High Lift Camshaft : 111 : $188.30469 : 265ci 225hp 2x4 Barrel Carbs : 3080 : $172.20471 : Rear Axle 3.27 Ratio : Unknown : $ No CostHaving been voted into Concours dElegance Hilton Head and Atlanta Chateau Elan, lets you know to take a serious look at this well-preserved Corvette today!
