VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1996 Rover Mini for sale in New Braunfels, Texas

Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this right-hand drive 1996 Rover Mini. Created in 1996 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Mini Cooper, a total of 1,701 examples of the aptly named model were built, with each one having Almond Green paintwork, a Diamond White roof, and a Porcelain Green interior (though several red cars were also produced for the Japanese market). Of that total, 1,200 cars were originally exported to Japan, with this being one such example. This car moved back to the homeland of the UK back in 2010 and then the US at the end of 2021. This Mini has had a retro look applied to it, consisting of the front grill, LED taillight conversion and rear boot lid from an early MK-I Mini and conversion to original size 10 Minilite style wheels with the wheel arches removed. Stopping power is provide by 7.5 Cooper-S front disc brakes and Minifin drums on the rear. Peering under the bonnet, we see the single point fuel injected 1275cc engine with the factory 4-speed manual transmission. Now if you thought from the photos that the exterior of the car looked good, the interior is even better. It looks barely used, there is no wear and tear on the switches, the steering wheel isnt fraying or showing any signs of wear, the new elm wood dash is beautifully finished and shines with its lacquered surface. Upholstery wise, the seats are in near showroom condition with very little if any wear, especially to the usual places like the back and seat base bolsters. The rear bench is the same little to no wear at all. Everything is in place and operation in the Mini and its a real testament to how well this example has been kept by its previous owners. The white dials sitting behind a leather wrapped steering wheel are a nice original addition and really pop from the walnut dash readily giving the driver all the info they need like a 180kph Nippon Seiki speedometer, 8K-rpm tachometer, fuel level and water temperature. Presented in good condition throughout and benefitting from a factory-fitted air-conditioning system, it will make a fine companion for weekend jaunts, but would be equally enjoyable as a diminutive daily driver.
