Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1961 DeSoto 2-door Hardtop! In the late 20s Chrysler wanted to bring about a new brand that would focus on mid-price class. Named after the Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto, The DeSoto line was introduced in 1928 with cars rolling out for the 29 model year. The DeSoto Adventurer was unveiled in 1956 as a high performance hard-top coupe. Hard times fell with the recession and decisions had to be made. In 1961, Desoto axed the Adventurer name and left it simply as DeSoto for their final year. Available in 2-door or 4-door hard-top. Only 3,040 model were made, of which only 911 models were 2-door hardtops.Wow! What a car! This 61 DeSoto is breathtaking. The black paint is stunning. The bold angular lines with the color against all the chrome really makes a statement, simply timeless. If you thought the exterior is great just wait until you look inside.
