In the early 70s there was a big influx of foreign cars entering the American market and they offered both performance and luxury whereas in America you normally didnt get both in 1 car. Pontiac went to work to create a car that would be able to go head-to-head with the foreigners. The Grand Prix was selected for its natural luxury features and the Trans Am for its performance enhancements. If you take the Grand Prix and Trans Am and put them together, there you have the Grand Am! If you didnt know that I bet you arent alone. The Grand Am would leap frog through time with 5 generations spanning up until 2005. Here we have a 74 model, 2nd year of the first generation. The maroon paint and white Landau Cordova top look great! She had a repaint mid to late 80s and has been garage kept since. The maroon cloth interior matches and is also in good shape. Under the hood is a 6.5L 400ci V8 backed by a rebuilt automatic transmission. The car runs and drives out so smooth, shifts great and sounds good. The sole owner (1-owner) bought it new at Parks Motor Sales out of Columbia, TN. We have the original window sticker that shows the incredible amount of factory additions (14 items) which bumped the price up almost 20% to a total MSRP of $5,644.50.
