The Firebird was produced from 1967-2002. Pontiac first introduced the first Trans Am which consisted of an optional handling package in 1969. A limited number were made including 689 hardtops and 8 convertibles that year. This 1977 second generation Trans Am was built from 1970-1981. In 1977 the shaker hood scoop was revised, and four rectangular headlamps dominated the front end. The 1977 Trans Am hit unprecedented sales numbers due to the iconic movie Smokey and the Bandit. Reaching close to 300,000 units sold by the end of 1979.This 1979 Pontiac Trans Am is painted in Atlantis Blue with an Oyster White Vinyl interior. Under the hood of this beauty is a 1970 Pontiac 400 engine bored out to a 480 Stroker. The engine has been rebuilt from the block up. Including HV oil pump and pickup, Eagle Stroker kit, rod/main/cam bearings replaced, freeze plugs, Comp Cam lifters/ pickup, new oil pan, timing set, rear main seal, pan gasket, new rings, resurfaced heads, new valve springs, fuel pump, water pump, pushrods, carburetor rebuilt, and much more. The T-10 four-speed manual transmission has also been rebuilt to compliment the engine build. Additional features include T-TOPS, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power locks, Snowflake alloy wheels, rear defogger and an AM/FM/cd radio.
