If there is one automotive trend that has never gone out of style, its the practice of injecting a full dose of American V8 power into a sporting British roadster. Founded in 1979, the now extinct Classic Roadsters Limited in Fargo, North Dakota, was one of the earliest companies to offer replicas in kit form. This example shows quality execution and finishing, presented in a pairing of bright red paint with a black interior. The replica is finished with competition ready touches such as dual fold-down windshields, a full-width padded roll bar, louvered hood with leather straps and full wheel arch flares. The black cockpit is similarly themed with pleated synthetic leather bucket seats with matching door cards and carpet. A three spoke Pilot wood-rimmed aluminum steering wheel frames the instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. Keeping with its Anglo-American inspiration, this nifty replica British sports car is powered by a Ford small-block 302 CID V8 engine topped with Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock polished air cleaner and Torker II intake, Mickey Thompson valve covers and long tube headers, and mated to a 4-speed manual transmission putting power to the ground via its Ford 9-inch rear end.
