VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 2002 Pontiac Firehawk for sale in Alpharetta, Georgia

Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta is proud to present this 2002 Pontiac Firehawk. The Pontiac Firebird is an American automobile that was built and produced by Pontiac from the 1967 to 2002 model years. Designed as a pony car to compete with the Ford Mustang, it was introduced on February 23, 1967, five months after GMs Chevrolet divisions platform-sharing Camaro. This also coincided with the release of the 1967 Mercury Cougar, Fords upscale, platform-sharing version of the Mustang. The special-edition extra-performance Firehawk (available in Formula trim for 1993–1997, and again in both Formula and Trans Am trims for 1999–2002) was produced by SLP Engineering, Inc., and sold through Pontiac dealerships. The most popular year in SLPs successful 11-year run of Firehawks was 2002. What began in 1992, in the last year of the Third-Gen Firebirds, with only 25 production examples, grew by leaps and bounds into 2002s offering of 1,501 Ram Air-equipped SLP Firehawks. For most people, the SLP factory-sanctioned package offered plenty of horsepower (345 ponies is nothing to sneeze at); it included in its standard fare: Ram Air, a short-throw Hurst shifter, 17x9.5 wheels, throaty muscle car exhaust and the classic Firehawk hood and decals. It was the top of the line Firebird you could buy, and people bought a lot of them, relatively speaking. The 02 Firehawk was based upon a $28,385.15 MSRP Trans Am and then added $8,412 worth of Firehawk options, literally every SLP upgrade that could be ordered, and it tallied up to a retail price of $36,797.15. Firhawk hoods are functional Ram-Airs as well as the heat-extractors (located on top corners of the hood) just a different design. Hawk hoods are more of a composite 1-piece that is designed specifically to fit with the front facia of the Hawk. Painted in Pewter Metallic with Neutral Leather Interior. This 2002 Firehawk is powered by a 5.7 Liter LS1 V8 backed by a 6 speed manual Transmission send the power to the wheels through a Limited Slip Differential with 3.42:1 Final Drive Ratio. Options on this 2002 Pontiac Firehawk include: Air Conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Anti-Lock Brakes, CD Player, Neutral Leather Interior, Power Windows, Power Mirrors, Power Locks, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Rear Defrost, T-Tops, Tilt-Steering Wheel, WU6 Code- Firehawk, and Traction Control.Consider yourself faster than the rest of the pack when youre handed the keys to one of the fastest F-Body Pontiacs of the era!
