VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1967 Ford Mustang for sale in Houston, Texas

Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is excited to offer this gorgeous 1967 Ford Mustang restomod. This classic pony was built as a tribute to the Carroll Shelbys Terlingua Racing team and is covered in a superbly executed blue and black finish that must be seen up close to appreciate. The black hood and contrasting racing stripe and C-cove accents are both subtle and striking: in the right light, they look almost like a midnight blue metallic; but that is no doubt a result of them being laid over the beautiful metallic Ford blue paint. The exterior is further enhanced by the use of some body parts by Mustangs to Fear, including the elongated hood, rear decklid with spoiler, and front clip and rear bumper, which all serve to make this coupe really stand out, looking both menacing and classy at the same time...some history from its owner: We found the car in southern Mississippi. Originally it was a 289 (C-code) car, but somewhere in its life, that had been swapped for a 351M. We completely stripped and sandblasted the vehicle and the only corrosion we found was behind the rear wheels, on the battery tray, and two holes less than dime size in the floor pan. The fenders still had their original stampings from the Ford Assembly Line. The front clip and hood were replaced with Fiberglass from Mustangs to Fear, as was the rear deck lid and bumper. It took 3 years for the restoration and there have been no other owners or drivers since. The car has been garaged full-time and driven periodically. During the restoration and modification project, attention to detail was paramount, with the objective of creating a 67 Mustang coupe that could be driven daily, taken on weekend road racing excursions, and could also bring home trophies at car shows. Here are some of the drivetrain details: 351W block (F4TE), bored .030, M-6250-F303 cam, TrickFlow TFS-51617203-C00 PowerPort Cleveland 195 heads (72cc combustion chamber, 195cc intake runner volume, 115cc exhaust runner volume, 2.080 intake valves, 1.600 exhaust valves, 1.460 outer springs), Eagle Rods ESP-5956FB connecting rods, ARP Pro Series Head studs (ARP-154-4004), CompCams High Energy Aluminum rocker arms (CCA-17045-16), TrickFlow Chromoly pushrods (TFS-21408400), TrickFlow lifters (TFS-21400004-16), MSD 8584 Billet Distributor, MSD ignition, MSD Atomic Fuel Injection, full stainless dual exhaust with Borla XR-1 mufflers, Tremec T-5 transmission, Ford 8.8 rear end with TractionLoc limited slip differential and 3.73:1 gear ratio. The 351 Clevor is putting out 405 flywheel HP and 420 lb/ft of torque, with 335HP/355TQ making it to the wheels, with one of the flattest torque curves youll ever see, according to its owner. Based on our seat of the pants test drive, this is one seriously potent Pony. The suspension is fully adjustable, and is as well-engineered as the drive train, with a full TCI setup. TCI Mustang II front suspension with adjustable coilovers and power steering, TCI Torque Arm rear suspension with adjustable coilovers, TCI Subframe Connectors, and extra torque box added for front stiffening. To haul this beast down from the triple-digit speeds that some will see in it, power disc brakes with slotted and drilled rotors were selected, and they perform admirably. Inside, there is a full TMI interior, including custom center console, and seating that complements the exterior color scheme, with custom, blue-stitched synthetic leather and Alcantara suede inserts that help grip the occupants during those high g-force cornering events, which this car will be called upon to deliver frequently! The full ana-digi electronic display also keeps with the black and blue color scheme and is much more accurate than the original analog gauges. A full dual-DIN Android Auto head unit with touch screen provides the aural entertainment when one is not content with enjoying the howl that the potent 351 puts out. This highly-customized 67 has everything one could want in a vintage Mustang: cold Vintage air; a superb-sounding custom audio system; new interior; fabulous brakes; a strong, fuel-injected 351 with a torque curve thats about as flat as your kitchen table; a crisp, yet smooth-shifting Tremec 5-speed manual transmission; super-sticky high performance Cooper Zeon RS3-A radials (P245/45ZR17 in front, P255/40ZR18 out back) wrapped around some very sharp American Racing lightweight aluminum wheels; that amazing-sounding Borla-equipped dual exhaust, real smoked glass (not window-film-tinted) windows, sequential rear LED turn signals, and that gorgeous paint scheme. 1967 Mustang coupes dont come much finer than this, so dont miss out!
