Gateway Classic Cars of Orlando is proud to present this fun little 1962 Austin Healey Sprite. Originally debuting as the Bugeye or Frogeye Sprite, these little roadsters were produced from 1958-1961 gaining a cult following. While most cars of the day were a body on frame construction the Sprite featured unibody construction for a lightweight yet rigid structure. In 1962 the Sprite was redesigned with a more conventionally handsome front end, gaining the eyes of an even bigger audience This particular example, finished in bright red, looks like it rolled right out of a print ad for Italian Sunglasses. As you walk around the car you’ll notice nice details like the fender mounted mirrors and color keyed wheels with white wall tires. Take a look inside and you’ll find a fully carpeted interior and black vinyl bucket seats with red piping. This is one sharp interior! Under the hood is a small displacement 4 cylinder engine with a proper 4 speed manual and the wind in your hair, it certainly is an exhilarating ride.
