Used 1949 Ford F1 for sale in Kenosha, Wisconsin
Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is excited to present this 1949 Ford F1 pickup. The all new F1 was introduced in 1948. Built as a larger truck with more cabin space than Fords previous model. The public was looking for a new type of truck that was still utilitarian but provided daily driver comforts. The F1 series was then first Ford pickup to use its own specific frame. A two-door pick up and a four- door panel truck were the available platforms. This 1949 Ford is painted in Boyd Coddington red accented with black running boards. Chrome bumpers, hood trim and door handles add detail to the trucks appearance. The gas tank has been tastefully installed in the wood bed and covered in diamond plate. Chrome Smoothie wheels are mounted on wide whitewall tires adding the finishing touch. The interior is decked out with a full leather seat, modern gauge package, chrome steering wheel with tilt, heater box and seatbelts. Under the hood is a Dodge 360ci V-8 attached to a three-speed automatic transmission. The body of the truck has been placed on a Dodge Durango Frame. Power steering and power brakes, power control header plugs have been added for a more pleasurable driving experience. This 1949 Ford F1 pickup is exactly what you would see in a Rockwell print. A great example of middle America in the 1940s.
