This T-top car is powered by its original 350 CID LT-1 V8. 1972 was the last year for front and rear chrome bumpers and saw the beginning of the use of SAE net power ratings. This meant that power was rated with all engine accessories in place. This Corvette has the high-performance small block engine (the LT-1 was rated at 55 more HP than the base units 200HP); which, when converted back to gross HP (like its 1971 rating would have used), would have been rated at close to 350HP. This is still more than enough to burn off the rear tires and give a lot of cars a run for their money. The C3 Corvette (referring to the third generation) ran from 1968 all the way through 1982. This C3 is one of only about 20,486 Corvette coupes produced in 1972. With its roughly 93,000 miles on the odometer, and having its original drivetrain, it is very likely to increase in value as the LT-1 cars become harder to find (especially the manual transmission cars). This numbers matching Corvette is equipped with its original-spec leather seating, and the black interior nicely contrasts with the Ontario Orange paint.
