First produced in 1983 for the 1984 model year, the Fiero was the first mass-produced mid-engine sports car by an American manufacturer. Production ended after the 1988 model year but not before gaining quite a fan base. This Formula model was only offered in 1988 and it kept the styling from the standard model while offering a lot of the features of the GT model. Notably, the new WS6 suspension design came on the Formula model with revised control arms and knuckles up front and a new tri-link suspension with revised knuckles out back. The WS6 equipped cars also saw a staggered wheel setup with 15x6 inch wheels in the front and 15x7 wheels in the back and improved disc brakes. Approximately 5,643 Formulas were produced in 1988 with 2,897 offered with a manual transmission. The “bright red paint was offered on 1,966 models and this example has aged gracefully. This Formula takes on the spoiler, aluminum mesh wheels and sunroof from the GT model as well as the 2.8L V6 and a manual transmission for the ultimate driving experience. The grey cloth interior is in great condition with no rips or tears, the plastic is in great shape and shows no signs of excessive wear. The odometer reads 157,414 miles and is reported by the owner as actual miles. An aftermarket AM/FM radio was installed accompanied by a 10-disc CD changer. This vehicle keeps it simple with manual windows, door lock and seats. Power brakes are standard while the Fiero never offered power steering.
