VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle for sale in West Deptford, New Jersey

Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia is presenting a 1974 Custom Super Beetle For sale. This Super Beetle is finished in a flat black primer. It is powered by a 1950cc engine with a 4 speed Manual transmission. This Beetle was built by Ed Muha of Florida. The build began with a 1974 Super Beetle. The roof was cut off behind the B pillars and grafted a type 3 Square back roof in for a flatter look. The rear hatch from the square back was cut and welded onto a 1/2 inch narrowed type 3 roof for the back window frame. He shortened and widened the fenders 4 1/2 inches then reshaped lower front to match radius of tires. The deck lid is also all custom hand done with parts from a Karmann Ghia. The side panel scoops are from a 95 Ford Mustang. They are fully functional and supply cooling air to the engine! The front end was fabricated from 1 inch square tubing covered in sheet metal with a hand fabricated steel hood. The front grill is a fiberglass 1934 Chevy Master Grill shell that was laid back some and pinched to narrow at the bottom. It houses the air conditioning condenser. The front fenders are all custom, molded by Wilmer Madera. The chassis is a stock 74 VW. The wheelbase has been stretched to 114 inches with a Speedway Motor 4-inch drop axel with leaf spring. This build is Equipped with front disc and rear drum brakes. The interior is all custom done by Jose Guitierrez from Florida. Using Ultra Suede and Vinyl with Yellow and Tan accents. The front seats came from a Pontiac Fiero and the rear is the Beetle bench that was raised and wrapped around sides to hide engine ductwork. Even the headliner, doors and door handles were custom done! It sports a smoothed steel dash with DO gauges, center floor console, Empi shifter and a JVC stereo system. Power windows are operated by switches in the floor console. To view this 1974 Custom Super Beetle in greater detail, including HD pictures, visit www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
