VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1966 Mercury Cyclone for sale in La Vergne, Tennessee

Gateway classic cars of Nashville is proud to digitally present this 1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT. Sporting a bright red paint job this Cyclone looks to be doing 120 MPH while it is standing still. White bucket seats with black inserts and a center console that has a Hurst 4 speed shifter sticking through it that looks longer than it should but feels just right. This 66 Comet Cyclone GT is powered by a 390 cubic inch that has an Edlebrock intake and Holley four-barrel Carburetor and enough cam to give it the proper sound and power you would expect from a car named after a force of nature. An aluminum radiator keeps the engine cool and happy. Backing this power plant is what I believe to be a Ford top loader four speed manual transmission. What better way to shred your tires than dumping the clutch at 4,000 RPM and watching you rear view mirror as the bellowing white smoke obscures your view. All the power and torque are fed to the Ford nine-inch rear axle housing which is up to the task of torturing the tire. With this much power at your right foot it is good to have equal stopping power at the middle pedal, power brakes with front disc and rear drums have that handled. If you are looking for a sweet looking car that attracts crowds at shows, has the power you crave and the drivability of a more modern car then stop reading and start dialing. Options for this 1966 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT include: Air conditioning, needs charge. Power steering and brakes, Tilt steering wheel, Seat belts, Radial tires and Alloy rims.
