VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1965 Ford Mustang for sale in Memphis, Indiana

Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang Convertible! In the mid 60s Ford developed and released a car that would become one of the longest produced cars in American History! We all know the story of the Mustang, the quintessential Pony Car that took America by storm! While even today these cars are loved and we are happy there are many of these ponies still around; however, there are some breads of the Mustang that are rarer, and that you dont see as often. That is what you see in front of you. Every extra option makes this pony ever rarer. Firstly, when the Mustang debuted midway through 1964 coining the 64 1/2 models there was a believed to be 3-month time frame when Ford made a specific motor and that was the D-Code 289ci V8. This pony has that motor and couple that with a 4-speed top-loader transmission and a convertible top and you have the makings of a hardly seen car. Walking around this car you quickly tell this is a high-quality 1st generation Mustang. The Vintage Burgundy paint really shines, and the black vinyl interior looks like new; because it is. Under the hood as stated above, and per the owner is the rebuilt original D-Code 289ci V8 and rebuilt 4-speed top-loader transmission. She has a posi traction rear end and 3.40 gear ratio. This car has been subjected to a full body restoration. Drivetrain, body restoration, and interior was completed over 5 years finishing Summer 2020. Tons of receipts included totaling near $40k in the build and photos of the build are available. This car still has the original side glass, all re-chromed & polished brightwork, new convertible top, and new dual exhuast. New Interior went around the original seat frames. Also included the original starter, rally pac, wiper motor, and restored steering box. Dont mistake this as being in boxes, these parts are either still working or rebuilt and still powering this pony! Lastly, it comes with a driver and show battery, custom car cover, extra paint, extra speedo bezel, original owners-manual and vin tag. Current owner has had her for over 8 years and purchased the car from this exact showroom back in 2013. Since then he sure has been busy restoring this car to a high level! The car is titled as a 1965 Ford Mustang. The title is clean and clear and ready to be transferred into your name now! If you want a very tasteful, well built 1st generation Mustang convertible that will turn heads anywhere you take it, and not just because of how it looks, but because of what it is! Dont miss your chance to own a d-code convertible 4-speed! Options on this Mustang are: Power Convertible Top, Rally Pac, Vinyl Interior, Seat Belts, AM Radio, Rally Wheels and White Wall Tires.
