Gateway Classic Cars of Chicago is proud to present this true 1966 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible. This Impala is housing a healthy 350 cubic inch V8 crate engine from Chevrolet and a TH-350 3-speed automatic transmission. Over the last few years this Impala has been painstakingly restored, and many of the receipts are available to prove the work done. In 2018 a full suspension rebuild was completed including tie rod ends, idler arm replacement, control arm bushing, and rear UMI tubular control arms. In addition to the chassis work, the engine also saw some upgrades such as a set of Hooker ceramic coated headers and a Comp Cams Magnum 270AH flat tappet camshaft kit to bump up the horsepower. A 2400-2800 RPM stall converter was installed with a transmission cooler to keep the engine spinning in its powerband. All of this was done to compliment the body of the car which was stripped to bare metal and rebuilt up to the beautiful classic Impala you see here today.
