In the late 40s Pontiac was looking to replace its aging Torpedo and that is where the Chieftain took over. Built off Pontiacs A-body platform the Chieftain was striking! In total the Chieftain would see 3 generations across its 12-year run. Here we have a 54 model, the last year of the first generation and rarely seen as far fewer Pontiacs were sold in 1954 with market demand shifting preferences. As you walk around this gorgeous example the white paint looks terrific and is by Rubber Seal Medallion. The red and white vinyl interior complements the exterior and the white wall tires completes the overall look. It simply is stunning. Under the hood is the believed original flathead 268ci Inline 8-cylinder engine. 1954 was the last year for these motors. The power is running down through a 3-speed manual transmission that we now call “3-on-the-tree. Very smooth and comfortable riding car.
