VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1978 Chevrolet El Camino for sale in La Vergne

Gateway classic cars of Nashville is proud to digitally present this 1978 Chevrolet El Camino SS Black Knight. Ok hold on tight as a lot of good information is coming your way. This is one serious car, truck? Let briefly talk about the incredible look of the car. The Black paint on this 1978 El Camino looks like the paint is still wet! The black paint is accentuated with a pin stripe that is three shades of brown tan and taupe and this color combination is carried on to the hood where a pair of fire breathing dragons give a hint to the beast under the hood. The 350 cubic inch small block that is strapped to the frame has about 3,000 on it since a fresh rebuild and it looks it and better yet can be felt with instant response with the slightest touch of the throttle. This small block has all the right goodies bolted to it, let start at the top. A Holley four-barrel Carb. On top of an Edlebrock performer intake allow the engine to pull in fresh air and fuel. A pair of Hooker long tube headers let it exhale with little restriction. MSD supplies the spark to wake the beast via a Blaster 2 coil and MSD distributor. All this power is then sent to the Muncie 4 speed manual transmission that has a firm shift that lets you know in an instant that you are in gear and it is ready for more power. I drove this car in the video and can tell you it is fun to drive and the ride and handling have not been forgotten. Until I spent 10 minutes gazing at the bottom of this sweet ride I did not know that all the body bushing had just been replace and the sway bars updated with Hotchkis components. Ok, a couple of words about the interior, it is as nice as the rest of the car. Also the car/truck comes with a copy of the built sheet and window sticker that has a final price of 7,996.10 ! That was a LOT of money in 1978. I could go on and on, but running out of room. This El Camino will not last long, call with questions.
