The Impala was a popular flagship passenger car for Chevrolet and among the best-selling American made automobiles sold. The Impala SS was introduced in December 1960 as an option package and became a separate model from 1964-1967. With this new lineup came a separate VIN prefix of 166 or 168 which indicated a V8 equipped Impala SS. This 1966 example is in a sparking Metallic Orange with a stock black vinyl interior. Its powered by a freshly rebuilt 327 5.4L Turbo Fire V8 producing 275 hp and mated up to a freshly rebuilt 4-speed manual with a 12-bolt rear end carrying 3:31 gears. Inside is a set of black bucket seats with a center storage box equipped console topped by a four-gauge instrument cluster. Handling the bumps and corners are Urethane Bushings front and rear. It rides on Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires with 215 70R 14s in the front and 225 70R 14s in the rear. The seller states it has new brakes, windshield, tires, shocks, front ball joints and “U joints.
