Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is proud to present this 1969 Oldsmobile 442. The 442 was introduced in 1964 as a muscle car version of the Oldsmobile Cutlass. Becoming a stand-alone model in 1968 to 1971. It has been said that the 4-4-2 name came from the original cars for barrel carburetor, four-speed transmission and dual exhaust. This second -generation 1969 Oldsmobile 442 was produced from 1968-1972. Sold as both hardtop and convertible models. 1969 brought new firsts for the 442 including a steering lock ignition switch, optional disk front brakes, standard headrests on the front seats and larger 442 badging. This sky- blue beauty sports a 455 cubic inch V-8 under the hood. A Turbo 400 four-speed automatic transmission transfers power to a 10 bolt 3.90 gear ratio rear end. The period correct black vinyl interior includes a pair of bucket seats. Added features include air conditioning, power steering, front disk brakes, Pioneer Am/FM/Cd radio, Keystone wheels and rear traction bars. Muscle cars defined an era of big block engines and power galore. This 1969 Oldsmobile 442 is a shining example of a time when going fast ruled the road.
