These small, two-seat roadsters that were first on sale in 1955 as a response to GMs Corvette have always been highly collectible and recognizable classic cars. Though its clear that sportiness was a part of Fords vision for the car, Thunderbirds were marketed as “Personal Luxury Cars and had an emphasis on comfort, convenience and technology as a result. The 57 was particularly well received with 21,380 examples sold that year (around 25% more than in 1955 and 56). Painted in a classy “Colonial White with a matching White Hardtop, this T-Bird for sale features steel wheels with hubcaps surrounded by white-wall Firestone bias ply tires and desirable fender skirts at the rear. Check out those tailfins too! Under the hood is a clean, rebuilt 312 CID V8 tied to a 2-speed automatic transmission- this was the “stock combination offered with all 1957 Thunderbirds. There are a lot of maintenance records that come with the vehicle and the work has been done professionally. The 6-blade radiator fan was added to assist cooling but the original is included with the sale. This Thunderbirds Black and White vinyl interior will bring you right back to the glory days of 1950s America. An aftermarket AM/FM radio has been added to the dash (original radio included with sale) as well as a couple of additional gauges but otherwise everything looks period correct. A new padded dashboard was also installed earlier this year. Easily remove the Hardtop and you can take this T-Bird out “topless, completely changing the appearance of this 2-door classic.
