VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1969 Dodge Charger for sale in Kenosha, Wisconsin

Gateway Classic Cars of Milwaukee is pleased to present this 1969 Dodge Charger SE. Dodge introduced the Charger for the 1966 model year to combat sales from the Ford Mustang fastback and AMC Marlin. For the first two year the Charger didnt see huge sales numbers but did forge a place in the market for a more upscale fastback car with 2+2 style seating. In 1968 all bets were off, sale of the new second generation soared to new heights! The plan was to build 35000 new 68 Chargers, by the end of the year over 96000 Chargers had hit the streets. With only minor redesigns in 1969 and 1970 the Charger was a giant hit for Dodge and a Mopar icon was born! Over those 3 years the Charge was offered in many different trim levels such as an SE, 500 and Daytona that was built to compete on the NASCAR circuit. With movies like Steve McQueens Bullitt, The Fast and the Furious and TV shows like the Dukes of Hazzard, the second-generation Dodge Charger had become on of the most popular and sought-after muscle cars in history. Our featured Charger is a fine example of a Mopar legend. Showing off brawn and beauty this Dodge will command attention at every stop light. The car is painted in a stunning deep purple color that almost mimics a piece of grape candy complimented by black vinyl interior with a wood grain style dashboard. The vehicle is powered by a 318ci V8 engine bored over .30 and linked to a 727 Torque-flight transmission with a shift kit. Other upgrades on the car are a Competition Cam, roller rockers, TTI ceramic headers linked to 3 exhaust with OTP electric cut outs, an Edelbrock air gap intake with an Edelbrock AVS Thunder series 650 carburetor with an electric choke. The Dodge also has hardened valve seats, a Mopar electronic ignition system and a mini starter. The rear end is an 8.75 posi with 3:73 gears. Lastly the car sits on 15 American Racing 5-spoke rally rims wrapped in Dunlop G/T Radial tires with raised white letters! Take a drive in an American Classic with this stunning 1969 Dodge Charger!
