VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1979 Chevrolet Camaro for sale in Phoenix, Arizona

Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is excited to feature this desirable 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 for sale on consignment with our Arizona showroom, located in North Phoenix. In a world where everything is expected to improve over time, the 1970s did not follow this trend for muscle cars. The Mustang II is hardly even worth talking about and the Camaro itself was also in rough shape by the mid-70s thanks to strangling federal emissions and safety standards that automakers had struggled to adapt to. In 1979 Chevrolet revised its F-Body unibody platform with decals, a sporty front spoiler and rear fender flares for the Z28 models and this seemed to do the trick for sales; to this day no other Camaro model year has outsold 1979, which ended with 282,000 units delivered to customers (84,000 of which were Z28s). This vehicle offers several desirable attributes, starting with the low mileage- this Black Z28 is not totally stock due to a full repaint in 2018 but the seller of this vehicle claims those are indeed less than 39,000 actual miles on the odometer (backed up by a “Box A Arizona title). Pop the long hood of this Camaro and youll find a time capsule of an engine too- GMs 350 CID V8 that did come with a 4bbl carburetor but was only rated at 175hp for the 1979 model year. Youll still look cooler that you will driving a turbocharged Civic driving this classic Camaro though! The 3-speed Turbo350 automatic transmission scoots this Z28 down the road through a 10-bolt rear end geared 3.42. The Black vinyl interior is a nice place to be when riding around in this Camaro and GM completely redesigned the dash and instrument panel for 1979. The shifter is located in the center console and this vehicle comes with air conditioning, seat belts and an aftermarket Rockford Fosgate stereo system with Bluetooth connectivity. This 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 marketed on consignment with Gateway Classic Cars is a great opportunity to own the car youve always wanted and relive the glory days!
