Renamed as the LS6, this engine has a redesigned intake manifold, revised cylinder heads, hotter camshaft, new chrome-vanadium steel valve springs and stronger pistons. Resulting in an engine producing 385 horsepower at 6500 rpm. A revised six-speed manual transaxle is fitted with a new shorter gearbox to better handle the higher revving power band. To handle the added power a new FE4 suspension has been installed. Revised shock calibrations all around, stiffer transverse leaf spring, and stiffer anti-roll bars front and rear give this Corvette Z06 true handling and balance.
