Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is proud to offer this gorgeous Manila Brown 1931 Ford Model A. This Model A is the Deluxe Rumble Seat Roadster and features a classic Manila Brown exterior with contrasting black fenders and body accents, along with yellow wire wheels and a subtle pinstripe. This beauty has a fully functional rumble seat, making it a great car for parades or just hauling friends and family around the neighborhood. The engine is a Model B engine, which produces an extra 10 horsepower (50 vs. the Model A engines 40HP output), so it can certainly handle it! This car was professionally restored by a team of Model A Club members in Ft. Lauderdale, and it was thoroughly gone through in the process. The body and frame were fully disassembled and stripped down prior to a proper paint application, and then it was reassembled with new wood braces. The engine was upgraded to a 1932 Model B 50HP unit, which was completely rebuilt by engine specialist Hap Christiansen. It received a complete valve job, all new bearings, pistons, gaskets, and carburetor; plus, the water pump and distributor were completely rebuilt, and the charging system was upgraded to an alternator-equipped system (in place of a generator). The brakes were completely redone, as was the entire suspension and steering system, with new grease fittings and bushings throughout. Additional options include the aforementioned 50 horse Model B engine, 3-speed transmission, dual side-mounted spare tires (with covers), etched wind wings, working vacuum wiper, grill guard, Quail Motometer with thermometer, rear-mounted luggage rack with a handmade walnut trunk, running board step plates, dual cowl lights and taillights, inner door sill trim plates, rear fender steps on both sides (for entry to the rumble seat), and Firestone whitewall tires. Inside, youll find fresh carpet and synthetic leather seating from Cartouche, both of which are in great shape. The Stayfast Canvas Top is also new, and theres a convertible boot cover to go with it, giving it a cleaner look when the top is down. With only about 1500 miles on it since the restoration was completed, this 1931 Model A has plenty of life left in it! This is a very drivable car, and its ready for those summer parades and jaunts around the neighborhood, so dont let it slip through your grasp!
