Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is excited to offer this really nasty 2008 Corvette Z06 for purchase. This Z06 is sporting a LME-built LS7 engine (LME S/N 1667) that is putting out some serious normally-aspirated power already, and is capable of putting out a few hundred more if one desires. A $20K engine upgrade over the original, this LME LS7 was balanced and blueprinted and equipped with topflight components. Starting with a fully deburred block that was line honed, decked with BHJ deck true fixture, bored on 4 axis CNC, and diamond honed with torque plates. The main studs and key fasteners are ARP, bearings are Clevite. The Callies CompStar 4340 crankshaft was balanced to .25-ounce tolerance, all bearing clearances were tolerance checked, rings hand file fitted (Total Seal AP stainless top ring, Napier 2nd, and 3mm HT oil rings were used to support potential boost applications). All tolerances were optimized for customer specific application: current normally aspirated with future supercharger planned, so this engine can support up to 1000 horsepower with no additional mods required. The heads received a competition valve job, and the CRN-coated 2.200 Titanium Victory one piece intake valves were back cut, and 1.615 Stainless one-piece Exhaust valves were installed. The chamber volume was measured, and heads milled to achieve the desired chamber volume for this application. A Cloyes LS7 4X single roller timing set (with upgraded C5R chain and Torrington bearings) is installed, and the cam was degreed. All told, theres only about 3900 miles on the engine, so its just getting broken in! Combine LMEs LS-platform engine magic with MSD Superconductor wires, Atomic Airforce composite upper intake, Halltech CAI, wrapped stainless long-tube headers, and you get over 600 horsepower at the wheels. A McLeod RST twin-disc clutch transfers engine power through the 6-speed manual transmission. This snarling Z06 has been treated to lowering springs, carbon fiber rocker accents and a duck bill spoiler to give it a decidedly mean look. A set of Nitto Invo high-performance radials (P275/35ZR18 up front, P325/30ZR19 out back) skin the Z06 aluminum wheels and provide lots of grip. Slotted rotors with 6-piston calipers up front and 4-piston calipers out back help slow this rocket down. Inside, the black leather seats provide plenty of support for the occupants, while a new JVC KW-V850BT Dual DIN head unit is DVD-capable and provides a myriad of connectivity options (including Apple Car Play and Android Auto support), in addition to offering a rear back up camera and navigation functions. This is one extra sporty Z06 with a lot of amenities!
