Contrasting the original bumpers which were fastened to the front and rear panels, the new prominent 58 Chrome bumpers were bracketed to the frame, freeing up any weight that might have been “free-floating. In addition to the “more chrome, longer body mindset, the front end also featured two “holes for blasting the front brakes with air, a new technology. Chevrolet replaced the single headlight look with a dual headlight design, accentuated by a chrome body line that runs between front headlights and rear body for an elegant and refined presence. This 1958 Chevrolet Corvette features 15 chrome wheels wrapped in Coker Classic white wall tires completing her boulevard look. The 283cubic inch V8 with CORVETTE emblazoned on the valve covers features a four barrel carburetor and a manual transmission making for a great day on the road. The interior was also updated for 1958, including placing the 6000 RPM tach, fuel, oil, battery, and speed guage in front of the driver. Seatbelts were also factory installed instead of dealer installed for the first time. The chrome bubble roll bar surrounding the front windshield is strong and shining while the windshield itself shows no cracks or chips.
