They introduced a new trim-level of the Chevelle and because Chevy was intrigued with naming their cars after coastal cities at the time and the Malibu was born. Running from 1964 to now with a hiatus between early 80s to late 90s the Malibu is in its 8th generation and now the only sedan produced by Chevrolet in America. Here we have a 65 SS model. Vin decodes as a 65 Malibu SS 2 door sport coupe. Approaching this iconic car you quickly fall in love with the Viper Yellow paint. I particularly think its great as you can see all the bold lines as they were intended to be seen! The black vinyl interior is in great shape and goes very well with the exterior. The original engine is long gone but nestled under the hood is a 327ci V8 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and has a 12 bolt rear end! Mileage on odometer is since the rebuild and that was just before the current owner acquired it back around 2010 from a private owner in Jackson, KY. The restoration has held up very well as this slick ride is in very good shape.
