Used 1980 Fiat 124 for sale in DFW Airport, Texas
Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to offer a Red 1980 Fiat 124 Spider. Fiat released their first Spider model in 1966. This small, lightweight roadster was a direct competitor for cars like the MG B or the Triumph TR6. The Fiat had quite a few items that were technologically more advanced than the British sports cars of the time. All Spiders had coil springs in all four corners, where some competitors had leaf springs. They also had a twin overhead cam four-cylinder which was a rev-happy and peppy little gem. Displacement changed over the years and by 80 had grown to 2.0 Liters, hence the 2000 Spider name. 5-speed transmissions, the Fiat has a great flair. Sprinkle in liberal Italian flair, and this is the obvious choice over its British counterparts. This particular Spider is a well-maintained example with restoration work. The car has received a completely new paint job just to spruce it up back to its original glory. The body is solid and the paint is not only eye-catching but also suitable for this little Italian gem. The bumpers, brackets, and headlight rings all look nice, and there is a new windshield. In addition to a fresh exterior finish, the interior has also been treated well The result is a beautiful Spider that runs and drives even better than it looks. If you havent driven a Fiat Spider, you truly are missing out. They have plenty of power, handle like a go-kart, and with the top down they have a fun factor that you just cant get with a hardtop. These cars are a bit of a hidden gem of the classic European car world. Snatch this one up before anyone else catches on.
