Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia is presenting A 1962 Ford Thunderbird Sport Roadster. The seller has the original invoice which shows that the car was ordered as a real Sport Roadster. It was one of the first of the 558 that were built by Ford. According to the Thunderbird restoration guide written by William Wonders this is the only example that was ordered with a vinyl interior. Yes, thats right 1 of 1 built. Does not get much better than that. The 390 ci V8 300 HP motor runs out nice. It starts easy runs smooth and has great power. The Cruise o Matic automatic transmission has been rebuilt for smooth shifting. The rear end has also been rebuilt with new axels and maintains the 3:00 gears. The car is equipped with swing away steering column, power steering and power brakes. The engine compartment is clean and detailed. This car is documented to be a true Thunderbird Roadster from the factory. It is not a car that was made special during the restoration. It is a True Sport Roadster with Bulletproof paperwork as documentation.
